Happy 2025! For the first few days of January I really tried to take some time to reflect on what I hope the year ahead will bring. Today at my MomCo meet up I shared some things that I had reflected on.
As mothers, we are a beautiful reflection of God’s design, uniquely created with purpose and love. In every role we play—whether as caregivers, nurturers, teachers, or supporters—we embody the gifts and talents He has instilled in us. Today, we celebrate the incredible strength, wisdom, and compassion that God has woven into each of us, recognizing that we are fearfully and wonderfully made like it says in Psalm 139:14. Our journey as mothers and women is not always easy, but it is always purposeful, guided by His hand as we grow in grace, patience, and understanding.
Today let's remember that we are not defined by the challenges we face. Every moment we spend pouring into our children, caring for our homes, and lifting others up is a reflection of God’s love working through us. Let’s honor the women we are, embracing our worth as daughters of the King, and knowing that God delights in who we are becoming. Together, we can encourage and uplift one another, walking confidently in the calling He has placed on each of our lives. Here are some ways that we can start off the new year strong:
Recognize your strengths: Consider your strengths as gifts from God, and use them for His glory.
Acknowledge your worth: Remember that you are valuable just as you are, and that your worth comes from being a child of God.
Celebrate your differences: The qualities that make you unique are intentional designs by God. He makes no mistakes.
Be open to receive: Allow yourself to be celebrated. Sometimes moms can feel self-centered or guilty for receiving attention or recognition, but let me reassure you that your homes and communities are better because you are in them. You deserve to feel cherished and celebrated.
Live passionately: Do the thing you love to do, and walk away from roles and expectations that others have for you.
Build Endurance: See yourself as capable and actively seek out the purpose God has set out for you. God has a unique plan for each person. Your path is not meant to be the same as the woman next to you.
Be authentic: Don't try to be someone you're not, and don't live for the approval of others.
Let’s commit to remember the verse from Ephesians 2:10: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” You are so worthy of celebrating and are a vital part of the Kingdom of Heaven. May this year bring you hope, peace, health, and contentment!
